Introduction

Qiu Dong，male, born in 1957, Yangtze River Scholar Distinguished Professor, doctoral supervisor, special allowance expert of the state council.

Research Interests

National Accounts, Chinese Statistical Reform and Development, Multi-Index Comprehensive Evaluation Method, The Sustainable Development, Macro Adjustment and Regional Development.

Education

Dr. Dong Qiu graduated from school of statistics, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics in 1990 and received a doctorate in economics. In 1993, he was awarded by the degree of the State Council Office’s approval as a doctoral supervisor

Experiences

Dr. Dong Qiu served as the director of the Department of planning and statistics of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics in 1994. In 1995, he served as the vice president of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and turn to the president in 1999, and then in 2002, he worked as the Deputy Secretary of party committee and the president of Dongbei university of Finance and Economics. From March 2005 to March 2009 he served as secretary of the Party committee of the Central University of Finance and economics, and then was hired by Tianjin University of Finance and economics as The Yangtze River Scholar Professor.

Now, he is the member of discipline assessment groups of the academic degree commission in statistical subject of the state council,  member of the management department of Science & Technology Commission Of Ministry Of Education,  member of Statistical Advisory Committee of the National Bureau of Statistics, member of the discipline review team of the national philosophy and social sciences program, deputy director of the national statistical textbook compilation committee, Chairman of the academic committee of the Institute of National Account, Beijing Normal University.

He served as Deputies to the Tenth National People's Congress, the vice president of National Statistical Society Of China, the vice president of National Accounting Society of China, the  vice president of The study of China's national conditions, the vice president of Chinese Association Of Market Information And Research, the vice president of Statistical Education Society Of China, the editorial board member of Statistical Research, Finance & Trade Economics, the independent director of Agricultural Bank of China, and he is also the professor or doctoral supervisor of many universities in China.

Main Project

Dr. Dong Qiu has hosted and completed about 20 major scientific research projects of national-level or provincial-level as follows: many key projects of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, major Projects of the National Social Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Education of The People’s Republic Of China, Ministry Of Finance Of The People’s Republic Of China, EU International Cooperation Project and so on.

Publications

Dr. Dong Qiu has published about 60 papers in many magazines, such as: Economic Research Journal, Management World, Statistical Research, Application of Statistics and Management and so on, and seven academic monographs. Professor

Courses

Dr. Dong Qiu has offered courses like National Economic Statistics, National Economic Accounting, Frontiers of National Economic Statistics, Financial Structure And Economic Development and so on, and he has guided dozens of doctors and masters who major in statistics, Economics of Population, Resource and Environment and so on. His course National Economic Statistics was awarded as National Excellent Course, and National Economic Accounting was awarded as Beijing Excellent Course.
