In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 19th Party Congress and President Xi Jinping's philosophy of the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, deepen the understanding of the teachers and students of our school on Chinese traditions and culture and enhance cultural self-confidence, 17 communist teachers and students, led by secretary Zhang Shumei, went to Qu Fu, Shangdong for a two-day Chinese traditions and culture learning tour on the 7^th December.

        The team visited the Confucius Temple, the Confucius Family Mansion and the Cemetery of Confucius. They learned about the inception and development of Confucianism and had a more comprehensive and profound understanding of Confucian culture in China. They team was deeply impressed by the profound Chinese culture.

        During the trip, the team also went to Qufu Normal University for exchanges. Song Lilin, a researcher of the Confucius Institute and a lecture of the Confucius Institute of Culture at Qufu Normal University, gave a report entitled "The Holy City Qufu and the Confucius" to the team. Mr. Song gave a vivid and detailed explanation of Confucius and Confucian culture from five aspects, namely who Confucius was, his thoughts, contribution, what do people think of him, his wisdom and humanistic literacy. After the report, the team talked with teachers from the School of Statistics of Qufu Normal University.

        General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that "Cultivating and promoting the core values of socialism must be based on the outstanding traditional Chinese culture. Strong core values have their inherent roots. Abandoning tradition and the roots means cutting off our lifeblood. The profound traditional Chinese culture is the foundation for us to gain a firm foothold in the world culture.” The moral education in the outstanding traditional Chinese culture is significant in guiding the learning and cultivation of party members. During the trip, the team was impressed by China’s profound culture via monuments visits and talks. We will continue to carry forward the tradition of the communist party, promote traditional Chinese culture, improve ideological and moral literacy, enhance cultural self-confidence, internalize the party's spiritual strength and practice such strength, so as to live up to the motto of “Learn, so as to instruct others. Act, to serve as example to all".
