内容简介：This paper investigates the long-term impact of fetal exposure to PM2.5 on low-stakes test scores across a wide age range of participants, using a nationally representative longitudinal survey in China. We find that women are more affected than men, especially when they have (male) siblings. Further, we offer one of the first pieces of evidence that gender differences may arise from differentiated postnatal parental investments due to son preference in our setting.

个人简介：张欣，现任北京师范大学统计学院副教授，博士生导师。研究方向为健康经济学、环境经济学、劳动经济学等。在Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS)、Journal of Environmental Economics and Management (JEEM)、Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (JAERE)、Journal of Population Economics、《经济学（季刊）》、《金融研究》等期刊发表过多篇论文。作为负责人曾先后主持国家自然科学基金青年项目、中国博士后科学基金面上项目和特别资助项目等国家级和省部级课题。获第八届高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖（人文社会科学）三等奖。
